New Symrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach, a barrier island beautifully sandwiched between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean, is located south of Daytona Beach. Take I-95 to Exit 249. Travel east on State Road 44. We visited New Smyrna Beach in February on a warm, sunny day.

Beach seekers will find many access points along the 13 miles of white, sandy beach. Driving and parking are permitted on the beach. (See detailed information at the link below.) For families with children there are traffic-free zones and off-beach parking. We found North Beach Park to be a convenient location as it provided restrooms, a shower, and ample parking. We enjoyed the boardwalk/nature trail that led to a covered sitting area overlooking the beach.

When you’ve had enough sun, you’ll find an eclectic selection of shops and restaurants, historic sites, parks, and many other activities.

Voted Florida’s Best Beach several times, New Smyrna Beach gives the beach enthusiast a satisfying playground.
