Daytona Beach

The city of Daytona Beach is home one of Florida’s most famous and most visited beaches. We were there in January when the temperature was in the sixties—great for walking but only the hardy would dip their toes in the water. Spring and summer bring the crowds who are attracted not only to the vigorous Atlantic waves and white sand but also to the variety of activities and attractions, which include the Daytona International Speedway with its annual Daytona 500 and Bike Week. Beach guests can take a break from the sand for a stroll along the Boardwalk and the Pier where there are many dining and shopping opportunities, including Ocean Walk.

If you’re not staying over at one of the many beachfront hotels, there are several access points and parks along the beach. We usually park in the parking garage across from Ocean Walk. A covered walkway leads from the garage to Ocean Walk, the Bandshell, Boardwalk, public restrooms, and the beach.

From I-95 take Exit 261A to US 92. Travel east to A1A. If you’re interested in the parking garage, turn north on A1A. The garage is located across from Ocean Walk which is at 250 North Atlantic Avenue (A1A). Check the links below for other parks and parking. Some parts of the beach allow parking and driving directly on the beach.
