Florida Caverns State Park

Caverns in Florida? Yes, that’s right. Located a few miles outside Marianna, these caverns offer the same stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, soda straws, and rimstone pools found in other caverns but on a smaller scale. We spent about an hour touring the 63 degree caverns and enjoyed every minute.

Besides the caverns, we visited the museum, watched an informative video, walked a trail draped in beautiful fern, and found the river sink on Log Run. One word of advice—book your cavern tour at the visitor center when you arrive. Even on a weekday the tours were booked up early. The park charges an entrance fee--$5.00 at the time of our visit in mid June. The cavern tour is an additional fee which varies for age groups. We paid $8.00 for adults. For children $5.00. Younger children might be less—not sure.
