Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park is located a few miles north of White Springs on U. S. 41. At the Museum and Carillon Tower visitors can view dioramas and exhibits representing some of Foster’s well-known songs, including Old Folks at Home which made the nearby Suwannee River famous. Visitors can stroll through the shady roads of the park and listen to the bells of the Carillon Tower play Foster’s music.

The park hosts several interesting events throughout the year: Stephen Foster Day in January, Primitive Arts Day in February, Native American Day in March, Florida Folk Festival in May, and many others.

A visit to the park is not complete without a stop at Cousin Thelma Boltin’s Gift Shop and Craft Square and the river gazebo which offers a view of the famous river. When we visited the park, the river was low and slow, but don’t miss going “way down upon the Suwannee River.”
