Silver Springs State Park

Located off Highway 40 in Silver Springs, Florida, this state park was once a popular attraction. Many visitors came to ride the Glassbottom Boats which offered a spectacular view of the springs that feed the clear waters of Silver River. Visitors can still take a ride on a glassbottom boat and enjoy the underwater scenery. Also, visitors can stroll the paved walkway through the Historic Gardens, past the open Concert Stage and the sparkling Silver River where Cypress trees cling to its banks. An education center provides information about the park’s history, including the movies and television shows that were filmed here. Concessions and picnic areas are also available.

We spent a quiet, beautiful sunny day here in early December.
