Flagler Beach

Perhaps this narrow ribbon of beach is not in the same category as its larger, more famous sisters, and its red-tinged sand may not compare with their powdery sugar-like sand. Still, for those looking for a quiet spot to relax in the sun and enjoy the ocean waves, it is just the place to go. Along A1A there are several points of access to the beach.

Exit 284 off of I-95 and head east on Highway 100 to Flagler Beach. Turn right on A1A. The beach is not far down. There is parking along the road and a few restaurants nearby.

Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area is about 3 miles south of Highway 100. The Recreation Area offers a campground, picnic area, kayaks and canoes to rent, and much more. Not far south is North Peninsula State Park with its 2.5 miles of beaches.
