Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park

Visitors can view the beautiful gardens and lakes of Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park on foot, bicycle, or horseback. With over 1,000 acres there is much to be seen and enjoyed. The Maclay House Museum is open from January through April when the flowers are in bloom. At the Lake Hall Recreation Area there is swimming, fishing, and boating. Special events are presented throughout the year and monthly including concerts on the grounds.

We visited in the morning of late November when the garden was quiet except for the sounds of birds and the fountain in the secret garden. Lake Hall was still and peaceful. It was a perfect calm in the midst of a very busy day.

Directions: From I-10 in Tallahassee take exit 203 to north US 319 (Thomasville Rd) then turn left on Maclay Rd to park entrance on right.
