Dade Battlefield Historic State Park

We visited Dade Battlefield Historic State Park during the reenactment of Dade’s Battle which took place on December 28, 1835. The battle marked the beginning of the Second Seminole War. Next time we go, we’ll get there early to avoid the heavy traffic and to get a good seat for the reenactment. There are bleachers, but many brought lawn chairs.

The park is located near Bushnell which can be approached several ways. We took I-75 to Exit 314 and turned left (East) onto State Road 48. We traveled one mile then turned right onto Battlefield Parkway. From State Road 301, County Road 476 (West) leads to Battlefield Parkway.
